All police officers should have to study moral philosophy. The absence of philosophy, moreso, as a cultural and aesthetic force, is a disaster. Fiction, storytelling, TV, must become engaged with moral questions at a level that it engages the whole of society and challenges without being off-putting.
The New Symphony is psychological fantasy, a story that takes place within the landscape of the imagination, a world where a demon who represents your greatest hypocrisies will wash ashore from the sea of soul and begin to kill all your friends. The afterlife is not respite but a proving ground; those without compassion will find themselves strangers to their own hearts.
